1. What's the difference between full spectrum CBD oil, broad spectrum CBD oil, and CBD isolate?

Full spectrum oil is a whole plant extract that contains naturally occurring cannabinoids and terpenes including the psychoactive cannabinoid THC. Broad spectrum oil is also a whole plant extract that contains naturally occurring cannabinoids and terpenes but with THC removed. CBD isolate is CBD in its purest form, but does not contain any other beneficial cannabinoids or terpenes. It is usually found in the form of a powder or crystal.

2. What is CBD?

CBD is short for Cannabidiol. It is a natural occurring compound, or cannabinoid, found in the Cannabis sativa plant. It has no psychoactive effects and will not get you high.

3. How does CBD work?

Research has shown that CBD inhibits enzymes from breaking down naturally occuring cannabinoids in the body thus creating a pooling effect of beneficial cannabinoids that act on the body's CB1 and CB2 receptors . CBD has also been shown to reduce the effects of THC in the body.

4. What is the endocannabinoid system (ECS)?

The endocannabinoid system contains CB1 receptors found in the brain and central nervous system, and CB2 receptors found throughout the peripheral nervous system and immune system. This system is responsible for the modulation and regulation of many bodily functions such as sleep, pain, mood, appetite, and responses from the immune system. In essence it contributes to homeostasis, or balance, in all major body systems in response to changes in the environment.

5. What are cannabinoids?

They're a group of naturally occurring chemical compounds that act on CB1 and CB2 receptors. These compounds, or cannabinoids, are naturally produced in humans, animals, and some plants. Cannabinoids produced by plants are technically called phytocannabinoids.

6. What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?

Both hemp and marijuana are strains of the Cannabis sativa plant. The only difference is the amount of CBD and THC content in each strain. Hemp has high amounts of CBD and very low levels of THC. Legally THC levels must be below 0.3% in industrial hemp. Marijuana has high levels of the psychoactive cannabinoid THC and lower levels of CBD.

7. What is phytocannabinoid-rich hemp, also known as PCR hemp?

Phytocannabinoid-rich hemp, PCR hemp for short, is a naturally evolved strain of industrial hemp which has a high concentration of CBD and other cannabinoids but less than .3% THC.

8. What's the difference between CBD oil and hemp seed oil?

CBD oil contains cannabinoids. These cannabinoids are extracted from the leaves and flowers of industrial hemp. Hemp seed oil is made from the seeds of hemp, and while offering many nutritional benefits, they contain no CBD or other cannabinoids.

9. What is CBD used for?

Cannabis has been used for health and wellness for thousands of years. While legally we are not able to make any health claims, many people around the world use CBD as a supplement to support them in their daily lives. Nature's Mend strongly encourages you to do your own research to discover the many health benefits of CBD.

10. What are Terpenes?

Terpenes are the aromatic and flavorful component of plants. There are many benefits of naturally occurring terpenes in hemp and they all play a role in producing what is know as the "entourage effect".

11. What is the entourage effect?

The entourage effect is the combination of cannabinoids and terpenes working together to produce desirable effects thought to be more beneficial than a single cannabinoid product like CBD isolate.

12. Does CBD get you high?

Unlike the cannabinoid THC, CBD does not have any psychoactive effects and will not get you high. In fact CBD has been shown to decrease the effects of THC in the body.

13. How is CBD consumed or used?

There are many ways to consume or use CBD for health and wellness. CBD can be found in oil that is placed under the tongue and held there for a short time before swallowing, also known as sublingual application. There are CBD softgels that are conveniently swallowed just like a daily vitamin. You can also vape CBD which is inhaled and taken in through the lungs. CBD salves and balms are topical applications used on skin and joints. Please see our product labels for specific suggested uses.

14. Is CBD legal?

CBD produced from industrial hemp containing less than 0.3% THC is legal in all 50 states thanks to the 2014 and 2018 Farm Bill.

15. Can you overdose on CBD?

CBD is non-toxic and there are no known cases of overdoses reported. This is attributed to the way are bodies are made to handle various cannabinoids and where our CB1 and CB2 receptors are located. Reports of drowsiness or diarrhea are common with taking too much CBD. Please see suggested use printed on each product label.

16. Is your product safe to consume?

All of our CBD products are lab tested in-house and by third party testing facilities to insure quality and safety. All ingredients are natural and food grade.

17. Do your products contain THC?

Through our proprietary extraction and finishing process we remove all traces of THC to non-detectable levels. Our phytocannabinoid rich hemp oil has no psychoactive effects or side effects associated with THC.

18. What are the benefits of taking CBD oil without THC?

Many full spectrum CBD products on the market today may contain more THC than people realize. Even with the legal limit of 0.3% or less of THC allowed in hemp extract, in large doses there is a possibility of psychoactive effects. This is why lab reports are an important tool in evaluating CBD products. Our broad spectrum oil contains no detectable THC, so you don't have to worry about feeling impaired or intoxicated. Our products are also great for athletes and employees that may be tested for THC. There are also people very sensitive to THC even in small amounts that can benefit from our products.

19. What tests are performed on your products?

Our premium broad spectrum CBD oil is tested in-house and by third party testing facilities. We test for safety to ensure our products are free from pesticides, bacteria, mold, heavy metals, and harmful solvents. We also test for quality to make sure things like potency, cannabinoid content and terpene content are properly measured and identified.

20. Can I view lab reports for your products?

Yes, of course! We always have our lab reports posted online here, or you can visit mycbdtest.com and input the batch number printed on the bottom of our products. You can also scan the QR code printed on our labels to view the lab reports. We are very transparent with our lab results because we know how important it is to show our customers the quality and safety of our CBD oil.

21. Do you need a prescription or medical marijuana card to use CBD products?

You do not need a prescription or medical marijuana card to purchase our CBD products. Our THC-free products are legal in all 50 states.

22. Will I pass a drug test if I use your CBD products?

While our products contain no detectable THC which is verified by our third party lab results, some tests may only check for the presence of a broad range of cannabinoids. These tests may not be sophisticated enough to test only for the presence of THC. If passing a drug test is a concern we recommend not using any products containing CBD.

23. How is your CBD extracted from hemp?

We use eco-friendly supercritical CO2 extraction to produce a naturally rich whole plant extract. This process preserves desirable phytocannabinoids and terpenes while another proprietary process removes all traces of THC. While this last process may add an additional expense, the end product is a premium quality CBD oil without any psychoactive effects or side effects.
